We’re excited to share that the MIT Renewable Energy Clinic was recently featured in Barnstable eNews, highlighting our ongoing efforts to engage with the Barnstable community around offshore wind development.
Our team of graduate students and staff is currently conducting a comprehensive stakeholder assessment to better understand how residents across Barnstable’s seven villages feel about offshore wind energy and its associated infrastructure. From fishermen to homeowners, environmental groups to civic organizations, we’re committed to listening to a diverse spectrum of voices, especially those that haven’t always had a seat at the table.
As the article outlines, our work is strictly non-partisan. We do not advocate for or against any specific project. Instead, our mission is to work with the entire Barnstable community to design a more inclusive, participatory process for energy infrastructure planning. By learning directly from residents, we aim to help the Town of Barnstable develop locally grounded policies and frameworks that reflect a broader range of public input.
